2. The current trademark regulations in Iceland are mainly based on the 1997 Trademark Law. The Icelandic Patent Office is responsible for managing trademark affairs and the official language is Icelandic.
3. The trademark registration in Iceland follows the principles of "use first" and "application first".
4. Iceland's product classification adopts the International Classification of Goods. A trademark can be registered for goods or services in one or more categories, but will not be registered without a specific list of goods or services.
Iceland's service trademark law includes service trademarks and certification trademarks.

Therefore, trademark registration in Iceland can be processed through "single country registration" or "Madrid International Registration".
The validity period is 10 years from the date of registration; Renewal can be processed within 6 months before the expiration date, with a grace period of 6 months (with additional fees) and a validity period of 10 years.

6. Proof of priority document (if priority is declared).
Submit application documents to the Icelandic Patent Office;
The examiner will conduct a formal and substantive examination of the application to confirm whether the application documents are complete and whether the applied trademark meets the basic registration requirements; If the review fails, a rejection notice will be issued and a response will be required within the specified time;
If the substantive examination is passed, a trademark registration certificate will be issued and an announcement will be arranged;
After the issuance of the certificate, an announcement will be made, and the two month period from the announcement date is the objection period. If there is no objection or the objection is not established during the announcement period, the trademark will be officially registered successfully.
