2. The Cayman Islands Patent and Trademark Law is the 1975 Law No. 29 and the 1976 Patent and Trademark Regulations, which came into effect on March 15, 1976.
3. Trademark law belongs to the Anglo American legal system and adopts the principle of prior use, but also takes into account the principle of prior registration.
4. The types of trademarks are consistent with the provisions of the UK Trademark Law, and registration applications for goods trademarks, service trademarks, series trademarks, and joint trademarks are accepted.
5. We use the UK's product classification system.
The applicant is unable to conduct a 'single country registration' locally and must request extended protection based on existing UK registrations, Madrid designated UK registrations, or EU registrations. The trademark in the application cannot request extended protection.
Trademark registration validity period: 10 years, starting from the date of submitting the trademark application;
Trademark renewal must be submitted within 6 months before the expiration of the trademark registration period, or within a grace period of 6 months after expiration, and the renewal is valid for 10 years;
1. Applicant's Chinese and English names and addresses
2. The power of attorney (to be notarized) must be signed or stamped by the principal.
3. Copy of the applicant's ID card or business license (individual application: provide ID card or passport; company application: provide copy of company business license)/service items;
4. Proposed registered trademark name, pattern, and detailed description of goods/services.
5. Registration certificate in the UK (based on UK trademark registration).
Search for the Chinese, English, and graphics included in the trademark to be registered Based on the applicant's request, I will conduct a nationwide search to see if there are any previously registered identical or similar trademarks in the same category.
Organize trademark designs and prepare trademark application documents
Submit a trademark registration application to the Cayman Islands Trademark Office and obtain acceptance.
Issue an acceptance notice within one month and obtain a trademark registration certificate within two and a half to three years.
